For PanQart, a pop-up Art Exhibition at the old Panquin Barracks in the town of Tervuren we exhibited two black and white ‘Grubbenbomen’ pictures measuring 3 m by 2 m. These Grubbenbomen represent huge beech trees with exposed roots in century old hollow ways typical of our countryside.
These pictures apparently remind lots of people of the Secret Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. As a consequence I bought the book and began reading about the mysterious life of trees. This fires up my enthusiasm to expand on the series of trees, trunks and roots full of magic and I am currently working on new series on this theme.
